Whisman Giordano & Associates (WGA) is celebrating Lisa DeRose, CPA, CGMA, as a 2021 Women in Business honoree, as chosen by the editors of Delaware Today and the Delaware Business Times.

DeRose has earned “her place at the table” over her 30-year career. She graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Accounting and worked her way into management. WGA was honored that she chose to join the firm as a partner in 2013. At WGA, Lisa participates in the firm’s overall management and leads the tax department, tax committee, and human resources.

Lisa has a long history of mentoring. She helped found the Delaware chapter of the ACE Mentor Program in 2010. Since then, the program has given high school students over $100,000 in scholarships and introduces them to careers in building design and construction. Equally important is her work with the Delaware Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, where she provides guidance and training to her peers. The WGA staff look to her as a mentor.
