We’re pleased to announce that Edward Devenny, Certified Public Accountant, has been promoted to Principal.

Ed has nearly two decades of experience providing accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services to businesses and individuals. He is a husband, father of twins, community volunteer, and a graduate of Widener University in Chester, PA. He joined the firm in 2019 as a Manager and immediately made an impact. Joseph V. Giordano, CPA, CGMA shares, “Where do I start? Ed’s always pleasant and positive, and just a really good person. He exemplifies our team-first mentality. He is steadfastly reliable in his care for clients and sets a great example for all of us. When he joined our firm, he assumed leadership roles that showed us he was invested in the firm’s success. We are confident in his abilities and look forward to what the future holds.” Ed had this to say about the promotion “I joined Whisman Giordano because I saw a practice that puts clients first. That couldn’t be more true. Now, in a leadership role, I will do my part to help us grow as an even stronger leader in professional services and the community.”

Whisman Giordano is not the only organization recognizing Ed’s achievements. In October 2021, he was recognized by the Delaware Business Times as a “DBT40” honoree, which, according to the Delaware Business Times website, “is awarded to a select group of the region’s best and brightest young professionals, all under the age of 40, who are making a difference with their intelligence, initiative, and innovation.” Ed is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Delaware Contractors Association Young Executives Committee, Scholarship Committee, and was recently the Chair of the Young Executive Committee’s Time Charity Committee.
