Senior Accountant

Whisman Giordano is seeking a senior accountant who wants to enhance his or her career in public accounting. Senior accountants perform a variety of accounting and tax assignments under the supervision of managers and/or directors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and executing audits, reviews and compilations for a variety of small businesses and nonprofit entities, including OMB Circular A-133, as well as pension plan audits
  • Preparation and planning for individual, corporate, partnership, trust/estate and nonprofit tax returns as well as some supervision
  • Training and supervising staff accountants
  • Staying compliant with tax and accounting regulations

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
  • Two to four years of public accounting
  • CPA, or actively pursuing completion of the CPA exam
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP principals, IRS tax code
  • A working knowledge of Caseware, Ultra Tax software and other various programs relating to tax planning, depreciation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Supervisory experience and client relations skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
